Upgrade your orgasms and support the amazing Vagina Museum!!

The Vagina Museum is the world’s first bricks-and-mortar museum dedicated to vaginas, vulvas and the gynaecological anatomy. It opened the doors to its first fixed premises in November 2019, with over 100,000 visitors in its first few months coming to see the Vagina Museum’s first exhibition: Muff Busters: Vagina Myths and How to Fight Them.

65% of 16-25 year old women say they have a problem using the words vagina or vulva, and nearly a third admitted that they had avoided going to the doctors altogether with gynaecological issues due to embarrassment

Shame and stigma prevail, shutting down conversations that need to be had with an impact on health, as well as wellbeing and pleasure. How can you talk about what you like when you’re uncomfortable using the words? How can you understand your own body if you don’t understand your anatomy?

Museums reflect what we, as a society, cherish. Vaginas and vulvas are often overlooked, hidden in the back of a cupboard by museum curators rather than giving this body part the love and respect it deserves. Half the world has a vagina - and the Vagina Museum aims to celebrate this, while setting the record straight.

With shame and stigma comes silence, and this is a climate where myths can flourish. Muff Busters highlights just a handful of the myths that circulate in popular culture, the internet and many other platforms about the gynaecological anatomy including society's ideals around cleanliness and appearance, periods, contraception and sex. Its aim is to give an introduction to how every individual and their body is unique, and hopes to prove that myths and legends are just for the fairytales, not our bodies.

There’s a real appetite for non-judgmental education and celebration, but due to the COVID-19 crisis, the Vagina Museum has had to temporarily close. This is a huge blow to a brand-new museum, and unfortunately, it’s having to crowdfund so that it can reopen when it’s safe to do so. So far, they’re halfway to their goal, and would love if you could support the Museum.

Joining forces with others who are working to empower, educate, and give the love the Notorious V.A.G deserves is a core part of the museum’s ethos, which is why it’s joining forces with Je Joue to make social distancing a little more fun for everyone. Je Joue are supporting the world’s first Vagina Museum in their time of need by donating 20% of proceeds for every sale of toys using the code VAGINAMUSEUM15. Better yet, because we all deserve to love ourselves as much as we love the gynaecological anatomy, you get a 15% discount. There’s no better time to treat yourself, because in supporting the Vagina Museum, you’re helping to educate the world about a perfectly normal, and utterly wonderful part of the human body.

If you need a little toy inspiration, take it from our pal Zoe from the Vagina Museum:

I'm so grateful to Je Joue for gifting the team with some toys! My Mimi Soft was an instant favourite; the vibrations felt like no other toy. The shape is fantastic as it means I can find just the right angle for just the right moment, and I love that it's so discreet I can leave it out by the sink with none of my housemates knowing what it is...
